I'm getting a new Palm Pixi that I plan to put on PP, but not immediately.
I have an old phone on a another carrier with a number that I will port to PP.
However, before I port the old number to PP, I want to try the Pixi on PP first to check the coverage and reception.

So ...

Can I activate the new Pixi with a new number to try it out, then port the other old number (from another carrier) to it? The Pixi would have an active PP number on it at the time of the port. Can I do this?

Hi there!

Yes, you can do what you are talking about. You can activate the Palm with a new number, try it out for a while, and then port in a number to replace that one. Please read this below for more details :)

Thanks,
Kitty

I understand that you are needing information on how to port a number in from another provider to take the place of a current number that you have on Page Plus. No problem.

Here are a few important things you should know:

DO NOT CANCEL YOUR SERVICE WITH YOUR OLD PROVIDER! Our porting process cancels your service for you automatically. Your line must be ACTIVE with your old provider to be portable.

1. You should always wait until the end of your contract date to avoid an Early Termination Fee, or, if you intend on paying the ETF, you can port out anytime!

2. Since the device that you want to port onto is already active on Page Plus with a temporary number, there is no need to do an ESN Check on that device.

3. Any plan/minutes or balance that you have on your current number, the one you are replacing, will be lost. The number you are ported in will start off with a fresh $2.00 credit (as long as it has never been on Page Plus before - Page Plus only allows us to give $2.00 credits to new numbers that have never been on their network.)

4. Do not purchase minutes or a plan until your port is done! This gives you the chance to PROGRAM and place an outgoing test call on your line to make sure it is working before purchasing a plan or minutes. We always advise this since Plans & PINS are non-refundable once purchased, so it's smart to make sure your port went through fine and your phone works fine before purchasing a plan or minutes.

4. It is very important that you provide the accurate ACCOUNT NUMBER and PASSCODE. If you are not 100% sure of your ACCOUNT NUMBER and PASSCODE, please contact your old carrier to get those two pieces of information before completing the form. If they tell you that there is on passcode, it's ok to write "none" in that field. But you should always check!

5 Also, if you are porting out lines from a FAMILY PLAN, it is very important that you save your PRIMARY LINE for porting LAST. This means you should call your old provider, find out which number is your PRIMARY LINE and you should port that number last. On our port form there is a COMMENTS BOX. Please write any comments you think we should know in this box - including telling us if that line is a primary line or not.

You can start a port by ordering your port here: http://www.kittywireless.com/pageplus/portprocess.html -- we do charge a nominal fee for a port because each port is handled by a live human being for accuracy!

Once your port is submitted, we will send you the following emails:

The first thing we do once we get your port form is REMOVE the current number from the device, so that the device is freed up to accept a new incoming port number. This means that your device will have no service until the port is complete.

1. We will send you an email telling you that we have submitted your port.

2. If nothing else is needed during the process, our next email will be to tell you that your port is done. This email will contain instructions on how to program your phone and place your first test call.

3. After this is done, you are then ready to purchase a plan or minutes for your phone!

I hope this helps :) Should you need anything else, just let me know.

Thanks,
Kitty

I have Verizon (have had for a very long time), but I don't know which number the passcode is. There are three numbers I know of, my website password, the billing password/code, and sometimes they ask for my social security number or last four, it's been a while so I don't remember. How can I figure out what it is?

More then likely it'll be your billing password.

Last 4 of your social security number is, by default, the billing passcode/password with Verizon.

I just activated a phone on PP and since the service is working, I would now like to port my number from Straight Talk. As far as I know there is no account number. So, what info will you need from me to make this a successful port and appx how long would the port take? Thank-you.

StraightTalk uses the ESN number from the back of your device as your Account Number, with no passcode :)

StraightTalk ports generally take 24-48 hours. Sometimes, after we submit it, you can call them to get it hurried up:)
