Hey gang,
I am still having an issue with Dropped calls/Disconnects on the first call made from a fresh boot of the phone, and random dropped calls with the message that i need to deposit more funds.
Here is the thread from the old forum with my issue. (http://www.kittyforums.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=673a5d8de9a15d101043cae2743b34 fb&topic=46.msg1624#msg1624)
My device: HTC Eris
My plan: T&T 1200
My issues: I get the same "Dropped Call/Disconnected" problem as the rest of you... EXCEPT with a twist.
EVERY time I reboot my phone (since day one when I joined PPC a few months ago) my first call lasts about 45 seconds then disconnects with no message. I just hear a few beeps and the call is gone. I can then call or receive a call from the person I was just talking to and stay connected as long as I like. I tried to fix this by making my first call to my voicemail, but that didn't work. My first in/out call to a real phone always disconnects within 45 seconds 100% of the time.
My troubleshooting: Standard programming via *22890. Programming is successful but my problem is not fixed.
*22801 never connects.
*22891 programs correctly but does not fix my issue.
Flashing the VZW/Alltel Hybrid PRL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=673661) updates the PRL correctly but doesn't fix my issue.
Any other tips?

I had this "first call after reboot drops with a few beeps" (W385, standard plan for years), but I "cured" it by making a call to #737 after the boot....and no more "dropped with beeps" problem. Maybe that would work for you?

I will definitely try it !
Thnx for the suggestion!

#737 doesn't fix the problem. I tried on both of my Eris phones. Both on Pageplus.
I still get the exact same issue.

Bummer.....I stopped exploring options once the #737 worked for me....sorry....

Synaptyc....
Please send your PHONE NUMBER and your ESN over to support@kittywireless.com and we'll give you a free ESN Reset to see if it helps.

I am having the same problem on my HTC Ozone. Always the first call of the day, but doesn't happen EVERY day. What does dialing #737 do?

I have the same problem with my LG VX8360. I leave the phone powered on all the time, but whenever I do power it off, when I turn it back on, the first incoming call is dropped after about 30 seconds or so.

#737 is a free call to PagePlus' automated system to get your balance, add money, etc. When I found that the dropping only happened on the first incoming call after a boot, I tried this because it was a "free call"....and it cured my problem. But apparently not everyone's, sad to say.

There is more than one issue here.
The first incoming disconnect call after the phone is turned off is a known problem. It varies to what area you are in. Sometimes an esn reset will work, sometimes changing your number work & sometimes changing phone numbers will work. When the incoming call disconnect, you are not charged for that call. This applies to all verizon mvno's. In a lot of cases it has been people calling the cell phone from a landline or voip but some come from a cell phone. I believe it has something to do with the Alltel merger and even effect locations outside the Alltel area.
The other issues
An esn reset should work except for banned devices, such as a blackberry or verizon prepaid device. Like kitty said.

Thanks, groze...just as a follow-up: I had the opportunity to test two numbers with two different phones. Both in the same area code & using the same tower, but with different prefixes. The W385 on the old number had always been dropping the first incoming call after a boot. After the ESN swap, the Omnia (now on that number) now drops the calls. The W385 (swapped to the new number) also drops the first call. Just for grins, I tried an ESN reset on the Omnia....but it did not help. Sigh. At least dialing #737 and checking my balance after a boot continues to work for me to prevent this....

Are these phones purchased from PP or KW and fully flashed/or fully flashed? I have an ENV2 and my husband has a Moto Q9C that (obviously) didn't come from either of those sources. I'm just wondering if it a problem with PPs flashing. Did you flash the Omnia or did it just work? I'm just trying to think outside the box.
We NEVER have dropped calls, even after a reboot. I can't figure this one out.

My LG VX8360 is not from PP or KW. It was on contract w/Verizon in its previous life. Drops first incoming call after reboot. I usually use my Skype line to make a call to it after I power it up.

Have you taken Kitty up on the free esn reset offer?

Ok, I just had the ESN reset (and did OTA programming). No change at all. The first incoming call drops with some beeps after about 35 seconds.

Bummer...
Do you have another phone you could do a temporary ESN change with?

I do have another phone, but it appears that an ESN swap didn't solve the issue for @tomw2 above, and I don't want to mess with it any more, until a sure fix is found.
I hardly ever power off my phone, so its not a huge inconvenience at this point. If you hear of a fix, please post on this thread. Thanks. :)

I love page plus cellular .
I tried the ESN reset with no luck. Still dropping the first call - but intermittently. Seems to be calls from other Verizon cell phones but I haven't totally verified that yet. My phone was purchased from eBay from a previous Verizon customer. Guess I will try the #737 trick every morning. I power down my phone every night to charge it - does everyone else not do this?

I have only experienced this twice. So I think its a fluke on my end. Knock on wood.
I do not charge my phone ever day. When I do, I power down.

The Omnia is from KW. The W385 was an eBay purchase > one year ago. The Omnia was flashed to the Verizon/Samsung OS update. The W385 was not. As someone else noted, though, the W385 (the older phone) did not experience any of this dropped calls stuff until the Alltel changes started happening....and PRLs were getting updated every other week.

UPDATE: Kitty performed an ESN reset on both of my HTC ERIS phones on PP. The problem still persists. =(
#737 doesn't fix the issue either.
I tried the hybrid verizon/alltel PRL ... no fix.
(tip from a different forum) I tried this trick on my ERIS : *#*#4636#*#* then select "Phone Information", then scroll down and CDMA auto PRL or CDMA only. Neither fixed the issue.
I have not tried to move my number off the device and back on. I have heard it works for some, but I will have to find an old phone first =)
I don't want to change my number (different area code) as that will be most inconvenient.
I have noticed that when I switch towers I will get a dropped call almost every time incoming or outgoing. Not just when I reboot the phone.
The search continues for a fix!!! (as my wife is wearing me out about this problem)

Been there. I would much rather have my phone not work than my wife's.
