Is there any difference between updating your Preferred Roaming List (PRL) by dialing *228 vice *22890? Why are two different numbers used if we are getting the PagePlus/Verizon PRL regardless? Does one access the VZW postpaid PRL while the other is the VZW prepaid PRL?

*228 option 2 and *22891 are the same thing.

*228 option 1 and *22890 are the same thing.

No difference :)

Verizon's system recognizes you as a Page Plus customer, either way, and gives you the proper PRL.

But, what's the difference between:

*228 option 2 and *22891

and

*228 option 1 and *22890

??

"OPTION 2" is for a PRL update. "OPTION 1" is to program the phone.

EDIT: WOO HOO !!!!!!!!!!! Post #1000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Heh Congrats on 1000 posts Micallen!!! :)

There is no difference between *228 option 2 and *22891. Nor any difference between *228 option 1 and *22891.

Just two different routes to get to the same destination.

No difference in the PRL that is loaded.

Thanks,
Kitty

Thanks to all for the info. I can always expect a quick response from the "senior" members with reliable information.

Ah; but then what is *22890? Or was that a typo (refering to *22891 twice) on your part?

1000-poster-McCallan answered my question about: the difference between *288 Option 1 vs *288 Option 2, or, conversely, the difference between *22890 vs *22891.

One (*288 Option 1/*22890) is to program the phone;

the other (*288 Option 2/*22891) is to update the PRL.

Yes?

But it is *228, not *288
