I may have the chance to get an unreleased Verizon Pre3. The ESN/MEID is probably not in Verizon's database. Would PagePlus allow me to operate that phone on their network? The data usage profile of the phone should be similar to other WebOS phones like the Pixie and Pre.

I don't see why not. PagePlus uses a blacklist not a whitelist, so any phones not on the black list(iphone 4's, prepaid verizon phones, stolen phones, people who dont pay thier bill for 3+mts on verizon) should work perfectly. Any chance you have an extra pre3 *wink*

Thanks. That's good to know. I was under that impression from scanning the forum but wanted someone else's opinion before laying out any cash.

As DROID said, If you get a Pre 3, I don't think you will have a problem activating it on PPC

Last time I checked on eBay for the price of the Verizon Pre3, the only one I saw was $800. I would really love to have a Pre3 but with that price...

After spending a few days with the pixi, I'm really thinking about acquiring a pre 3. Any tips on finding one would be greatly appreciated. :)

So are you a WebOS convert now? The small screen of a Pixi doesn't really show off the OS like a tablet but the feel is very much the same.

Yeah I'm really digging WebOS. Cheapest Pre3s have been 600 bucks on eBay. Fair price since they are new unsubsidized phones. I just don't think I should spend that much on a phone anymore.

What does it do that makes it worth at least double what a new Android phone would cost? Just curious.

The phone feature-wise doesn't do anything exceptional. The price is consistent with a high end smartphone off contract. But it has WebOS, arguably the best phone operating system out there. You really have to use it to appreciate it. Flipping cards back and forth, automatically searching and finding information on your phone wherever it may be stored. The OS doesn't get in your way as you try to do things.

And as far as hardware, it is a very nice looking phone, executive quality. Smooth curves all around, solid slider, matte soft touch black finish. And a very good keyboard for fans of hard keyboards.

It is the best that Palm has done. It's just too bad it was never officially released.

Got my Pre 3 and took advantage of the free ESN changes being offered by Kitty this weekend. Pre 3 provisioned fine, using a procedure very similar to the Kitty Pixi procedure. *22890 worked first time, got data working. Noticed one anomaly in the phone settings that I'm going to investigate. Shouldn't affect anything unless you are a really deep phone geek.
