It's just removed publicly. If you still want a custom title, as long as it's not "Superior Administrator" (or anything like that), and clean (not vulgar), just drop me a PM and I'll gladly put it on for you :-)

heh. What you're asking will require me to dig out the vBulletin manual and look each one up. We don't truly use Rep Power, feedback score, etc. for anything here, I don't believe. We left those on since they were on by default, but we can easily turn them off.

I love vBulletin. It's just, very, very, very complex. :-) It has features that we do not even use, probably will never use, but it's VERY stable.

Feedback score is tied to how many positive transactions you have in the iTrader section. Could you leave that active?

Don't neuter everything just because it's not understood. We've not had any real abuse and already abilities are dissapearing.

I'm not disabling everything. I DID disable the ability to set custom titles, because up until now it did not occur to me that people might try to make it "Superior Administrator" or anything related to Administrator, and try to pose as a forums Admin. Now, I DO KNOW that Sheo did not do that, but it occurred to me that someone could. And that's a real vulnerability that I have to be aware of. I did say that if someone still wanted a custom title just to drop me a PM and I'll put it in, no problem.

(I used to believe, in my heart, when I was younger, that people were generally good/honest people.. now, I do not believe that, especially with an online business, and I err on the side of caution, online and offline.)

Regarding the other items, I merely said that I do NOT have an understanding of what they were, and they could be disabled if necessary, but I had no intention of disabling them.

There is a balance between forum functionality and security, one that I am very aware of and I try my best to keep that balance. Also, let it be noted that most other online forums that I have visited - FatWallet, SlickDeals, HoFo, etc. do not allow Custom Titles at all - even if asked in a PM.

I doubt there is much we can do about those. We have a REALLY good spam stopper system in place (stopforumspam.org) and it works GREAT. I check the logs every few days and it blocks MANY attempts for spammers to get on here. But the early morning ones that DO get through, well, luckily we have some great mods who can zap them quickly ;)

I figured that out. When I first tried to make a profile on here, It kept telling me that I couldn't. After that I waited about 6 months and tried again and again it said I couldn't. That is when I realized it was the username I had picked. Silly me.

FYI, anyone that had a custom title will now snap back to the default tiers (Junior/Member/Senior, etc.) if you update your profile :(

It happened to mine. I'll let you know Kitty if/when I'll want to change it.

If you have a custom title, and want to keep it, just PM me and I'll make it stick. If you don't have a custom title, and want one, just PM me and I'll make it happen. I've already had a few people PM me and I made the changes when I got their PM's. It's really not that big of a deal.
