Cricket is going to be selling the new iPhone. This is the first pre-paid carrier to be able to sell new iPhones. Check out the prices! ...and you still end up on the Sprint network. Also, no BYOD here, you HAVE to buy it from Cricket.

Interesting! It looks like a USED Vzw iPhone 4S starts at $350 on eBay and goes up quickly from there.

That seems like a decent price for a NEW Iphone, $399. That price compares favorably with the price kitty has on a new droid3. I know they are 2 completely different phones, but.

But in the end, Sprint coverage sucks in most areas, including mine.

I'm just curious why you made a new thread for this instead of adding to the existing thread started this morning with an active discussion on this same subject?

Now add LEAP to the mix. PP is taking their time on this?!

I looked, but didn't see it at the time. Maybe it was held by the Mods?

Don't worry about it. I merged them. Sometimes things flow too quickly around here.... no worries :)

Cricket AND LEAP announce iPhones on the same day as this whole debacle? :-/

I believe Cricket is a subsidiary of Leap. So really the same people. But yes, interesting it happens on the same day.

Virgin Mobile is getting it the 29th with everything "unlimited" (data throttled after 2.5GB) for 50 bucks if you choose autopay. I'm very tempted to get this but 1. I'd rather have Page Plus that runs on the much better Verizon network and 2. They'll probably want you to buy an iPhone from them at full factory price.

It HAS to be a matter of time till Verizon relents and let's us have the iPhone. Oh how I dream of the day I can have my main line (iPhone) on Page Plus. My only fear is that what Virgin Mobile is to Sprint, Page Plus is not to Verizon.

Oh, you can bet it'll be full price to buy the iPhone at VM. :)

Think I saw $649 for the phone. Plan is supposed to be $35 for 300 mins voice, 3000 text and 2.5 GB if memory serves. They don't throttle but if you exceed the 2.5 you are liable for additional (undefined in the article) charges for essentially abusing the network. If you set up automatic payments cost supposedly drops to $30. The comparison done in the article gave a 2 year cost, including the phone cost, of about half that of AT&T, Sprint, etc. However, the elephant in the room is that it's the VM network. Not even close to an option for a whole lot of the country.
