This. Plus I just like the UI. MotoBlur is awful. Sense is smooth and has a lot of built in functionality.

I guess my response was kind of biased, because I have never tried HTC. But, I can only hear good things about it.

I love how it still has more votes than HTC, lol!

LOL. I guess I can't influence the vote. Honestly I have used a Droid 2 and a Droid X and they were fine. I especially liked my X with the Liberty ROM. I just like HTC phones better. I've used an Eris, an Inc and now an Inc2. When I use something else for a while and then come back, it make me appreciate Sense that much more.

I am actually thinking about trading my Droid 3 for an Inc2. Just to see what it is like, but I don't know if can live without the keyboard now that I have used it.

SwiftKey x is so good that you don't care about the loss anymore. Used to say I can't live without a keyboard as well, but this thing learns your sentence structure and typing style and i almost never have to correct a word or use backspace.

Well HTC doesn't have half as many phones out as Motorola does, so people just go with what they know and are used to.

Sheo, make sure you get a good deal on the trade. Maybe MicAllen or MatthewsNC can weigh in on this. I think all things being equal an Inc2 goes for more than an D3, but I could be wrong.

I looked on MicAllen's Used price list, and the Inc2 (according to that) is going for just a couple bucks cheaper than the Droid 3.

Something that is impressing me about the dinc2 now is that it will be upgradeable to ice cream sandwich,
and therefore this will extend the life of the phone in terms of new software usable on ICS will be available.

In theory, it will get the OTA upgrade if it's on Native Verizon. Lately, however, not so sure ICS will be pushed while on P+. :(

My first choice is Motorola.
My second choice, close second, is HTC.

Exactly what Tom said here. Inc 2 is tough to beat....

Both the HTC inc and the Motorola Droid X are great phones. The X is better in weak signal areas, but the inc seems to have better wifi. Overall, the HTC interface is better IMHO.

That's why you root and download it yourself.

When is that coming btw?
Sometime after August, based on what I've read. But I also read more recently that ICS for the Inc2 isn't a sure thing. So, I guess my answer is...I really don't know....

The Chinese version is already out. Just has to be modified to work correctly with Verizon. So even if the official one will take a while, we will have it soon..... at least the people who are rooted.

I've only used HTC, but I absolutely am in love with my Incredible 2. I did play around with my ex's Sprint Motorola phone (can't remember which one it was) and it just didn't seem as user friendly. But again I'm new to the smartphone world.

Just bought an HTC eris; I know...its old, but so am I! Pretty easy to use as a first smart phone. Looking forward to rooting and ROM change.

I had one of those for a long time. Great start to the Android experience. I still have it actually. It works but its close to worn out.

I started with the Pixi and REALLY liked WebOS with preware installed. I thought it was very intuitive but the lack of developer support and apps really cut that device short (1 month only.) Went to the LG Ally. Slick little device, decent development community for such an inexpensive device and being Android, had loads of apps for it. Had an opportunity to upgrade to a Droid 2 Global for cheap and jumped to that. Very powerful and even with a locked bootloader/kernel, still has a strong dev community as I'm running ICS on it. Gave it a lot of life and will serve me well for another year at least.
People are going to vote for phones that suit their needs and didn't give them problems. For me, I want to push the hardware as far as I can. So its all about the development communities for the specific device. While the D2 era devices have great support still, the X2 has horrible support. So its not a manufacture thing for me. If there's enough developers for a device, they'll figure out workarounds for bootloader/kernel issues, thought it could be easier for them and get a little more power out of the devices if they were unlocked. But then how would the manufactures make money selling new phones?

I voted for htc,but i like the cameras a lot better on the motorolas. But under all other stuff htc wins heads up.The motorolas are a bigger data hog than palm, blackberry or htc.[in my opinion]

Motorola gets my vote, I've used both htc and motorola I like the way the dialer, contacts and favorites are all together makes much more sense, the signal is stronger and wifi signal is better also.

I'd say my top three are Apple , HTC and Samsung. Never liked Motos except their iden stuff and Droids , oh yeah and Razrs. Nokia. They don't have a single cdma smartphone I don't think. I'm surprised Moto did so well and Apple so poorly.
Oh well, polls not over yet...

Apple. iPhones. iPhone not allowed on Page Plus. Kind of a biased crowd, lol.
