    Activation issue with Pixi..

    Had a ESN change from my old phone to the new Pixi earlier. But something seems to have happened at step two of the process. I did the *22890 bit and programmed the phone but at the next step I never heard any mention of pressing 1 for English the phone will just dial to whatever number that is being dialed and then give me the balance at the end. Data and SMS is activated according to the Pageplus Rep when I called them.

    So i'm stuck at the Palm Profile screen. I believe that step 2 is where something has gone wrong. I've read that the "1" to set your texts to English is essential otherwise it is NOT fully activated.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Try dialing *228 and press 1 and let us know what happens.

    I'm told 1 for programming 2 for roaming options. I press 1 and it says programing was successful.

    That's a good sign. Now all you have to do is go back, do the emergency dialing thing again, erase the 911, put in a regular number, place the call.

    Once it tells you that "your account is now active", hangup and go back to setting up your profile!

    After the programming step I dial a regular number in the the emergency call screen but it acts just like normal phone call on Pageplus - Balance -> Phone Call Ends -> Balance/Payment Due Date . I never hear "your account is now active" or anything about pressing 1 for English and i'm stuck back on the Palm Profile Screen and the sign in will fail.

    Ah ok, I read back... you did an ESN Change, ok. So you are now on your Palm Pixi, but your data is not working.

    Do an ESN Reset, if you wish, through this page:

    Followed the instructions but it's acting exactly the same. No option for press 1 for ENGLISH just a normal phone call.

    Page Plus said data was on earlier in the day when I got in touch with them so i'm not sure what the problem is.

    When you dial out from the Palm, does the correct phone number show up on the caller ID?

    Is you wifi perhaps enabled at the same time your 3G Cellular data is, perhaps confusing the two connections on which one to use?

    Go back through the steps again ... make sure *22890 SEND is successful. Make sure the RIGHT phone number appears when you dial out. Call Page Plus, make sure your data is enabled - in fact, have them TURN IT OFF and then TURN IT BACK ON again to be sure, most reps will do this for you without any objections. Take the battery out of your device after this, wait 15 seconds, put it back on... try it all again.

    Called Page Plus and had them reset the data. Magically the little 3g logo finally appeared in the corner and everything worked fine.

    So far so so good.
