How can I install a Video player or VLC on Palm pixi plus

    Hi everyone

Had no problem activating a Palm Pixi Plus but I dont have the video icon
I uploaded some mp3 files and various video files...audio files play fine from the music app icon
Can someone recommend a versatile video player app. maybe a VLC or even the palm os app
that seems to be missing and how do I do install it

    Thanx

    Mike G

hi Mike, you are sure you don't have the standard video app? (I had to look twice to find it on my phone...). It should be there.

I haven't tried any other video players (or even looked). I have tried converting some dvd movies to mp4 and they played fine using the webOS video app.

Suggest you look on Preware for video players.

I'd agree with =justjohn's= question: are you sure you don't have the Pixi built-in video player? It's not even a visible app; it's software in the background. All you can see, I believe, is the app called "videos," where you can access the media.

Several things to try: (1) with only your desktop visible (no apps on the desktop), press the v key. that activates "find" for anything with a "v" in it. You should see, at least, "doc view," "PDF view," and "videos." Videos is what you are looking for. (2) Look for the icon that is an "i", which is "device info." Activate it. Scroll to the bottom for "more info." Select more info, then "software" at the top of the next screen. Scroll down to "built-in applications." Near the end you should see "videos" listed. Mine is there: v1.4.5.1. That's the video app.

Different question: maybe this app can't play whatever videos you are trying to play/download. In that case, yes, maybe you need a 3rd party app. I just did a quick search on Preware but found no video apps. But I did a similar search -- for "video player" on the regular app catalog and found some possibilities. "Mediafly" for streaming video, for example
