Pixi Touch Screen Does Not Respond

It's been sitting unused for a few days. It is fully charged, I can call in to it and it receives. Keyboard does work. It had a small sticky spot on screen a few days ago and I used a wet finger to wipe it off (like spit wet, not dripping wet ) I pulled battery and let it sit, put battery back in, no luck. Is it a goner?

Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions. Except for maybe to try a reset? (I think there's a keyboard combination for this???? maybe?) Or else also try pulling the battery out when the phone is already turned on (if that's not how you tried it already?).

    Otherwise...

Do you keep a screen protector on it? If so, I would think that would rule out the "wet finger" as a cause. (I've got a screen protector on mine and have frequently cleaned the screen with a slight amount of water, and never any problems.)

If you don't have a screen protector, then I still doubt the water was the cause of the problem since I'd imagine "spit wet" is a pretty small amount. I mean, sure, I figure a LOT of water could cause a problem (as it did when I got A LOT of water on my laptop computer's trackpad---but even then after drying out overnight the trackpad started working just fine again.) That said... I guess you never know for sure what has caused this unfortunate situation. Hope you are able to get it working again somehow. Best of luck!

It seems like I saw this reported somewhere before. Unfortunately, I don't remember where, or what the outcome was. I guess I'm just saying to keep searching using Google, etc., and maybe you can find some additional info.

Thanks for the replies. We've googled and we've tried everything. Starting with a soft reset and finally, after all else failed doing the Web Doctor thing. Nothing worked. Now all I have is a useless piece of **** that I am no longer signed into and cannot sign into so I have no idea when/if calls and texts are coming through. We did get my pics off it before it became a paperweight at least. I guess tomorrow when Kitty is back up and running I will transfer my cell # to my old Samsung and at least have a working cell again. Can someone refresh my memory please, will my T&T 1200 plan transfer along with my phone number?

Yes, just do an ESN change. That will replace your old phone on the plan with the new one. Everything else stays the same, phone number, plan, cash available, etc. Just changes the phone.

Thanks! That is some good news at least. I guess I will go back to using a dumb phone for the time being and hope my kids Pixi does not become a brick like mine did.

It is smart to keep a backup phone on hand just for such a thing. You can keep using your account with the other phone while you figure out what to do with the bad one.

Could your screen have a small crack?

Here are a few threads that might help. Not sure if you have looked at them or not.

If you think the electronic part is wet, then a cheap one-time approach is use some raw rice in a leftover can or box, put the pixi in for awhile (overnight).
    And then, see what happens.

Believe it or not my son got it working today by shocking it again. Now, we'd tried that yesterday but it had not gotten a good enough shock I guess. He kept at it and got a lot of static going and IT WORKED!! Weird but true. We had found the info on shocking it here: http://uaddit.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=13110
