Greg at Remotesquad is insistent that you can't get 3g speeds with sprint phones. Not sure what to think about all that. See email:

It is just a 3g symbol on the phone. The evo has no 1x symbol built in to the phone. Even though it says 3g if you do a speed test of both the phones the speed will be the same. Sprint phones in general cannot get 3g on page plus. They can get 3g on most non-verizon carriers. page plus is a verizon carrier.

    Fyi I am getting 0.11mb

Too bad the explanation wasn't a little bit expanded. In my limited understanding of the issue, I can see how a company like Remote Squad might not be able to have a Vzw donor phone available, but to say it isn't possible is certainly not accurate, either.

I do have a fascinate that just died, but I have no clue how to do that.

I think there was a link in the PPC section of HoFo within the last few weeks on how to do it. I didn't follow it, and the poster said it isn't easy, but that it is possible.

I think we've probably gone far enough down the path of donor phones. I understand that it is a grey area because if it's a true donor phone, you own the donor phone and are throwing it away. It's a slippery slope though and I'd rather leave it to other forums to talk about the details.
